My car will not start, the story begins On Saturday night around 11:00 pm I started the car and set off, within feet of setting off, the car stalls and won't start up again, so I roll it back to the side of the road. Whilst checking under the bonnet, I noticed that the right hand side rubber hose section of the intercooler pipe has a short circular plastic tube coming upwards out of the middle. It looks like it is intended to connect to a The AA man said it was highly unlikely to be the turbo, but the wooooing noise did sound like it. Hi, I have a 2009 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI with 38,000 miles covered. 3,000 miles ago, at motorway speed of 70mph and having covered 60 miles, a misfire started. It became worse and the Engine Malfunction light came on. The car would only now tick over and not respond to the accelerator. Hi, Need to clarify which engine is in your car! Yes, I know it is a 1.8 TDCI. There is a LYNX engine version also fitted to the TDCI model, which dates back years in design. Actually that engine is fiited to those small Ford white vans used by builders . Bs0iPD.
